Material Bank

A powerful project hub for architectural design professionals.

(a) Overview

Background:
Material Bank is the leading marketplace for architectural and design materials, streamlining the sampling process for industry professionals. Its key offering is an overnight sampling service allowing designers to make faster, more informed decisions. The platform hosts hundreds of brands reducing waste and simplifying the way architects and designers source products.
Problem:
Designers frequently requested a mood board feature, even though it already existed. This highlighted the need for a more intuitive flow that makes the feature more discoverable and prioritizes user agency.

I was thrilled to hear participants reach back to me months after using it telling me of unique ways they would like to use the app.
This suggests that it is not only memorable, but an attractive and powerful tool able to help grow gratitude and fit into people's lives.
